SportMax Originals
When shopping for sportswear online, there’s always a risk of coming across a fake. New websites and profiles constantly pop up selling "adidas" and "Nike" at unusually low prices. And the difference isn’t always obvious from the photo.
Here’s what to look out for before placing an order.
The price
This is the first thing that should make you think twice. An original tracksuit or pair of sneakers is rarely sold for half price. If someone is offering a new Nike or adidas model for much less than everyone else, there’s probably a reason.
Where the products come from
Genuine products come through importers, authorized retailers, or directly from the brand. If the seller can’t tell you where the products come from or doesn’t provide an address and contact details, it’s worth thinking twice.
At SportMax, we import directly from Germany, from suppliers we’ve worked with for years.
Stitching, fabric, and weight
Fakes usually cut corners in places you don’t notice right away:
- Stitching on the genuine article is even, with no crooked threads or excess glue.
- Fabric on a genuine tracksuit feels different. It’s neither too stiff nor too thin.
- Smell is often stronger and chemical-like on fakes.
Labels and packaging
Products from adidas, Nike, Puma and New Balance have clearly printed labels with accurate information about composition and origin. If a label is crooked, blurred, or contains spelling errors, it’s almost certainly a fake.
How we work
Every order from SportMax is sent with an option to inspect and try on, so you can see the product before you pay.
Before dispatching your order, we check every product by hand. We work only with adidas, Nike, Puma and New Balance, and we know exactly what the genuine article looks like. What you receive is what you ordered.
